MUSIC AT USYD

Check out the other music ensembles on campus at the University of Sydney!

The Sydney University Wind Orchestra (SUWO) is an award-winning concert band, performing a variety of repertoire throughout the year in concerts, competitions and tours. Rehearsals are held weekly during semester at 5:30pm on Thursdays at Old Darlington School. New players are warmly welcomed, and no auditions are required!

The Sydney University Jazz Society (Jazzsoc) is the club for anyone interested in any aspect of jazz music; listening to, playing, breathing or living it. JazzSoc offers various performance groups, a chance to meet musicians to jam with, free weekly jazz performances, and FREE ENTRY to The Basement and The Vanguard for members! From blues to bebop, this is the club for all that jazz.

The Sydney University Musical Society (SUMS) is the undergraduate choir of USYD, and is one of the oldest secular choirs in Australia. SUMS sings many varied and diverse pieces, performing its major concerts in the Great Hall and other prestigious venues.

Beat the System aims to promote great USYD music on campus, host music trivia nights (prizes!), establish a student run music review e-journal & foster the creation of music on campus!
