Want to be part of one of Sydney University's largest and most active musical socieites? Auditions for SUSO are being held during Sydney University O-Week.

Auditionees are required to:

• Perform a short, unaccompanied work (around 1-2 minutes in duration)
• Sight-read a short passage (will be provided)

Open to: Flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, violin, viola, cello, double bass, trumpet, trombone, French horn, percussion and piano.
You may audition on as many instruments as you wish.

NB: All SUSO members must have Access cards: Visit the Access Benefits website for more information.

Auditions will incur a $10 fee. If your audition is not successful, you will be offered a free ticket to SUSO's first concert in 2012.

Please note: School-leavers are frequently concerned that their musical standard has slipped since sitting their year 12 exams. Please be assured that everyone is in the same situation, and that this is taken into consideration at auditions.

2013 Rehearsal Format

SUSO rehearsals are held from 5.45pm to 8.45pm on Mondays during semester. Dress rehearsals may be held on different days leading up to concerts. Members are expected to attend all scheduled rehearsals.

From 5.00pm each Monday, SUSO provides a free barbecue dinner to members of the orchestra. The barbecue is held on the Engineering Lawns, opposite the Old Darlington School.
